Case: Airport market strategy
Context. Our client, a
European airport operator, required a market-driven strategy to
position the airport in an increasing European competition and prepare
the company for an upcoming privitisation.
Mission. Following an
analysis of the strategic environment of traffic, competition and
capacity, a detailed vision was developed for each business unit,
including revenue and profit levers and future service offering. A
concept to retain existing and attract new airlines was developed. All
financials were consolidated in a 10-year plan.
Results. The airport
managed to sustain its share. Revenues from each passenger and
cargo-ton were increased and improved services have helped to retain
airlines.
